1)Boiler and equipment must be able to manipulate and have knowledge of entire steam plant.

2) Operation of centrifugal pumps and motors.  Must be able to understand pumps operation and application.

3) Operation of air compressors and air dryer.  Must know operating procedures and parameters of air equipment.

4)   Operation of water softeners and understand how they function.  Must be able to chemically test water for hardness.

5)    Chemistry of boiler water and feed water.  Must know required chemical parameter and how to maintain the proper levels.

6)   Know emergency procedures for various problems that occur with steam plant, major steam leaks, low water and firing of boilers.

7)    Operation of well and water systems.  Must know location of wells and how to manipulate system in its various modes.
